EMC announced promotions of company officers
DES MOINES, Iowa (June 30, 2020) — EMC Insurance Companies today announced the following promotions of company officers:
Lonnie Dafney – Assistant Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
In this new role for EMC, Dafney will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to embed diversity, equity and inclusion into all business and people strategies. Dafney has over 20 years of experience in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion; human resources; executive coaching; and talent management. Previously, Dafney worked for Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines as the director of human resources.
Matthew Fellers – Resident Vice President
Fellers is taking on the role of resident vice president and branch manager for EMC's Wichita Branch Office, where he will lead the team in serving EMC policyholders and agents in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Fellers has been with EMC for 14 years, most recently serving as the marketing manager of the Wichita Branch Office.
Casey Harvey – Assistant Vice President, Business Application Engineering
Harvey joined EMC 15 years ago and most recently served as the business applications director. In his new role, Harvey will serve as a technology leader for the application teams, developing and maintaining back-office applications and providing guidance for the company's digital platform.
Erik Keninger – Vice President, Enterprise Application Engineering
Keninger has been with EMC for 24 years, most recently serving as the assistant vice president, business applications director. In his new role, Erik will be responsible for developing and maintaining technology solutions that support business capabilities for agents, policyholders and EMC team members.
Angela Noble – Assistant Vice President, Innovation
Noble joined the Innovation team from Nationwide two years ago, initially as a senior consultant and then as innovation manager. Noble will lead corporate initiatives to differentiate EMC in the marketplace through innovation, collaborate with leadership on innovation-driven strategy, and manage partnerships with accelerators and start-up incubators.
Doug Nuehring – Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance Underwriting
In his 27 years with EMC, Nuehring has held various positions on the Corporate Risk and Reinsurance teams, most recently serving as the reinsurance underwriting director. In his new role, Nuehring will provide the leadership and strategic planning for, and oversee the execution of, all reinsurance underwriting activity.
Dawn Rizzi – Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance Business Development
Since joining EMC 14 years ago, Rizzi has held multiple positions within the Reinsurance team. In her new role, Rizzi will be focused on creating and sustaining reinsurance business opportunities through effective broker management, and collaborating with company leaders to secure resources and deliver on value proposition and customer experience.
Damon Youmans – Assistant Vice President, Digital Services
In his new role, Youmans will oversee multiple teams that, together, enable the architecture, design and delivery of future state technology solutions for the company. Youmans joined EMC from CO-OP Financial Services in March 2019, and most recently served as EMC's digital services director.
